Playhouse Kid/Teen Cabaret
02/25/12

At 16 (Banegas) and 17 (Wagner), the two young men are already seasoned performers. Now director Banegas and choreographer Wagner have assembled a company of 27 high school performers (all Playhouse Performance Education students) for a high-energy evening of song and dance. The material being performed covers a wide range: the title song is from the award-winning Off-Broadway musical Violet. There are plenty of other musical theater offerings in the evening. The audience will also be treated to numbers by Rihanna, Imogen Heap, Florence + The Machine and more. The cabaret’s 17 songs were all chosen, performed, directed and choreographed by the students themselves. Everyone involved in this production has volunteered his or her time, and all proceeds go to the Playhouse Performance Education Department. The audience will have only one opportunity to see these remarkable young performers, who are truly “on their way”… to great things. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online at www.ccplayhouse.com or by calling (931) 484-5000.  Tickets and information are also available for selected concerts at Crossville’s Palace Theater,ShanksCenter for the Arts benefit Cabaret on March 31, Southern Symphonic Brass, and other events.
